How to Finalize a Deal on Bunjoo: A Guide to Payment Options Once you've met with the seller, inspected the item, and come to an agreement, it's time to finalize the deal. Whether you’re buying or selling, choosing the right payment method is key. Below, we’ll explore various payment options and the benefits and risks of each. Deposits Deposits are generally not recommended on Bunjoo. However, some sellers may request one. If a deposit is asked for, make sure you’ve seen the item in person and are comfortable with the deal. Never pay a deposit on an item you haven’t inspected firsthand. If you feel uneasy about leaving a deposit, it might be best to walk away and find another deal. Cash Cash remains one of the safest payment options. It’s universally accepted and difficult to counterfeit convincingly. However, counterfeit cash does exist, so it’s crucial to know how to spot fake currency. While cash is simple, carrying large amounts can be risky and inconvenient for buyers. We recommend considering your situation carefully before deciding to go the cash route. Cheque Though less common in today’s digital world, cheques can still be a convenient payment method. However, there is a risk of the cheque bouncing. If you accept a cheque, request a certified cheque and go to the bank together with the seller to cash it before finalizing the transaction. This ensures the funds are legitimate and available before handing over the item. PayPal PayPal is a popular and secure online payment method when used properly. It offers some protections for both buyers and sellers. However, always double-check that funds have been deposited into your account before handing over the item. Be cautious of PayPal payment confirmation emails, as they can be faked. If the email suggests any delay in receiving the funds, contact PayPal directly (not through the email link) for verification. We do not recommend using PayPal’s "Friends and Family" payment option, as it bypasses PayPal’s security and lacks buyer and seller protections. If you are uncertain about a PayPal payment, reach out to PayPal directly for assistance. Money Transfer Services (Western Union, MoneyGram, etc.) We advise against using money transfer services like Western Union or MoneyGram for payments on Bunjoo. These services are often used by scammers because payment confirmation emails can be faked, and they offer no buyer protection if the transaction turns out to be fraudulent. If you do decide to use one of these services, never hand over the item until you’ve confirmed with 100% certainty that the payment has been received. Note: If a buyer asks you to move funds from a transfer to another account, especially before receiving the payment, it’s likely a scam. Report any suspicious activity to our customer support team. Bank Transfers Bank transfers can appear to be a safe and straightforward method of payment. However, once funds are transferred, they are almost immediately available in the recipient’s account. This makes it difficult to get a refund if the transaction goes awry or if you’re dissatisfied with the item. While bank transfers do offer some security, they are not foolproof, and the transaction typically provides little recourse if a problem arises. Always make sure you’re completely satisfied with the item before finalizing a bank transfer. Final Tips for Safe Transactions: Always inspect the item in person before completing any payment. Trust your instincts—if something feels off, don’t proceed with the transaction. Contact Bunjoo's support team if you have concerns or encounter suspicious activity. Stay safe and happy buying/selling on Bunjoo!
